Marcel Koßin

Welcome to my personal website. In addition to work, related to my professional interests, as a system administrator, you can find information about my hobbies, and my projects. Not only because of my profession, but also in my spare time I like to tinker with Open Source software. My area of expertise is, in this connection, virtualization as well as highly available, webbased applications.

Born on February, 14 1980 in Cologne, I achieved my diploma from German secondary school qualifying for university admission or matriculation in 1999 in Siegburg. After completing military service, I started professional training as IT specialist, Special branch systems integration, which I successfully completed in 2003. Since then, I’m working as a System Administrator. In german the word “Beruf” (engl.: profession) is derived from “berufung” (engl.: vocation). I guess thats the best description, of what defines my dedication as System Administrator.

In 2005, my significant other and I decided to share not only our live but in future also, our flat. Thus we, and her little daughter, born in January 2005, together moved into a bigger flat, leading me back to Cologne in 2006.
